The Backstage

Our Story

Why We Started ReSpin Boutique

If you've ever been part of the competitive dance world, you know the costume situation. Each season brings new pieces — beautiful, sparkly, lovingly chosen — and then, just as quickly, they're outgrown, retired, or quietly tucked into a bin at the back of the closet. We know, because we've been there.

I'm Alyson, and my daughter Sophie has been dancing for years. Over that time, we've accumulated our fair share of costumes — and watched plenty of other families do the same. It always felt a little heartbreaking to see these gorgeous pieces gathering dust when they could be out there, on stage, doing what they were made for.

Every costume has a story. We just wanted to help it find its next chapter.

So we built ReSpin Boutique — a consignment shop dedicated entirely to dance costumes, right here in Tsawwassen, BC. The idea is simple: give beautiful costumes a second life on stage, make them accessible to dancers who need them, and build something that actually gives back to the dance community we love so much.

That last part matters a lot to us. Every dollar we make from donated costumes goes directly toward our annual BC dance scholarship — open to dancers and aspiring dancers of any age, anywhere in the province. Because we truly believe every dancer deserves to shine, regardless of budget.

Whether you're here to find your next costume, pass one along, or just see what we're about — welcome. We're so glad you found us.

Keep dancing,
Alyson & Sophie
