Consignment Agreement

Thank you for choosing to consign your costume(s) with us. We’re thrilled to help your pieces find their next moment in the spotlight. Our goal is to make the process simple, transparent, and rewarding for every consignor.

  • All costumes must be clean, performance-ready, and consistent with our boutique’s aesthetic. We reserve the right to decline items that do not meet our quality or style standards. Costumes may be submitted in person or by mail, with shipping costs covered by the consignor.
  • Pricing is determined collaboratively between the consignor and our boutique team. Prices may be adjusted over time to reflect market trends, costume quality, and customer demand.
  • Items remain available for sale in-store and/or online for a six-month term. After this period, the consignor may choose to extend the term for another six months, retrieve the costume, or donate it through our community dance outreach program.
  • Our commission structure is as follows: for costumes sold under $150, consignors receive 60% of the sale price and the boutique retains 40%.
  • Payouts are processed monthly once the sale and return period have cleared.
  • Payments can be made via direct deposit, e-transfer, or boutique credit.

We take great care to protect all items; however, we cannot be held responsible for loss or damage due to theft, fire, shipping, or other unforeseen circumstances. Costumes remain the property of the consignor until sold.

Rental Agreement

Our rental program allows dancers to access high-quality costumes for performances without the full cost of ownership. The standard rental period is 3-6 months, with optional extensions available on a case by case basis (subject to availability).

A refundable security deposit between $50–$100 (based on costume value) is required at the time of booking. Deposits are refunded within five business days after the costume is returned and inspected. Costumes must be returned by the due date in the same condition they were received. Late returns incur a $10 per day fee unless pre-arranged.

Please do not clean rented costumes yourself — professional cleaning is included in your rental fee. Normal wear is expected, but significant damage or alterations may result in partial or full deposit retention.

Cancellations made seven or more days before the rental start date qualify for a full refund. Cancellations made within seven days receive a 50% refund or credit toward a future rental. The renter assumes full responsibility for the costume during the rental period and agrees to pay up to the full replacement value in cases of loss or irreparable damage.

Purchase Policy

Our purchase collection features both new and pre-loved pieces, all carefully curated for quality and style. Full payment is required at the time of purchase, and we accept credit/debit cards, e-transfer, and boutique gift credit.

Returns are accepted within seven days of delivery for store credit only. Returned items must be unworn, unaltered, and in their original packaging. Custom or special-order costumes are final sale.

All pre-loved costumes are cleaned and inspected before being listed. Minor wear consistent with previous use may be present and is reflected in the pricing.

Resell / Buy-Back Agreement

Our resell program is designed to keep beautiful costumes in circulation and help dancers refresh their collections with ease. Only costumes originally purchased or rented through our boutique are eligible, and they must be in excellent, clean, and damage-free condition.

We offer two options:

  • Buy-Back: We purchase the costume outright for 30–40% of its original retail price, depending on condition and demand. Payment is issued within 10 business days of acceptance.

  • Consignment Relist: The costume is re-listed through our consignment program at standard commission rates, and ownership remains with the seller until sold.

For Buy-Back items, ownership transfers fully to the boutique upon acceptance. Any items not accepted for resale may be returned at the owner’s expense or donated through our community initiatives.

General Policies

We are deeply committed to sustainability and to extending the life of every costume, reducing waste, and celebrating the artistry behind each piece.

All customer and consignor information is kept strictly confidential and used only for transactions related to our services.

In the event of any dispute, we promise to handle matters in good faith, aiming for a fair and mutually satisfactory resolution.

How Your Deposit Works

Your deposit is collected at the time of booking and is fully refundable once the costume is returned by the due date in the same condition it was received — clean, undamaged, and complete with all original accessories.

Deposits are refunded via the original payment method within 3–5 business days of a confirmed clean return. Deposits may be partially or fully withheld if the costume is returned late, damaged, or requiring professional cleaning.

Costume Care & Return Condition

We send every rental out clean and stage-ready. We ask that you return it the same way — ready for the next dancer to shine.

✦ Return Clean

Costumes must be returned freshly laundered or dry cleaned according to the care label. If you are unsure how to clean a garment, please contact us before washing. Costumes returned with visible stains, odour, or residue (including stage makeup and self-tanner) may be subject to a professional cleaning fee deducted from the deposit.

✦ Return Undamaged

Costumes must be returned free of rips, tears, missing embellishments, broken zippers, or alterations of any kind. Minor normal wear is expected and accepted. Any damage beyond normal wear will be assessed and repair costs deducted from the deposit, or invoiced if costs exceed the deposit amount.

✦ No Permanent Alterations

Cutting, hemming, dyeing, gluing, or permanently altering a rental costume in any way is strictly prohibited. Temporary alterations (e.g. pinning for fit) are permitted but must be fully reversed before return.

✦ Return All Accessories

Any accessories included with the rental (headpieces, gloves, belts, etc.) must be returned along with the costume. Missing accessories will be deducted from the deposit at replacement cost.

Late Returns

Costumes must be returned by 11:59 PM on the final day of your rental period. A late fee of $10 per day applies to any costume returned after the due date, deducted from your deposit.

If you need a little extra time, just reach out before your rental ends — we're always happy to check availability and extend your booking when possible.

Lost or Unreturned Costumes

A costume that is not returned within 14 days past the due date, or is reported lost or stolen, will be treated as a purchase. The full replacement value of the costume will be charged to the renter, minus the deposit already held. Replacement values are listed on each costume's product page.

How to Return Your Costume

Returns are accepted by appointment in Tsawwassen, BC. Studio collection may also be possible — just mention this at the time of booking and we'll do our best to arrange something convenient for you.

Please fold or hang the costume neatly and return it in a garment bag or protective covering where possible. We inspect all returns within 48 hours and will be in touch promptly regarding your deposit refund.
